After a long trek from Chengdu (taxi, plane, train, taxi), I finally arrived in Shanghai.

There was a reward at the end of the long journey — a noodle and pork liver set at a hole in the wall joint near our hotel. After some slurps, it became apparent that you eat the noodles in very light broth alongside bites of the liver and green peppers draped in a thick, sweet, savory sauce.

This cost 12 yuan, just under $2.
